Souvenirs juxtaposes objects, found and placed, within the western landscape. The term souvenirs comes to the English from the French ‘remember’ and from the Latin to ‘occur in the mind.’ These meanings key the compositional tensions of the series. Souvenirs questions the creation of place, event, memory and the photograph itself.
